Scott Cannon has served as NNSA Federal Project Director for the Y-12 Site Office since 2001. Mr. Cannon was responsible for the design, construction, and successful start-up of the Purification Facility Project ($50M) and has been responsible for the Highly Enriched Uranium Material Facility $500M since August 2004 (Post CD-3).

Between 1998 and 2001, Scott was a Facility Representative for the Spent Fuel Division at DOE Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC. Scott was responsible for providing operational oversight and insuring the operating contractor was performing activities in accordance with environmental, safety, and health regulations for the $120M Spent Fuel Program.

Between 1992 and 1998 Scott was a senior project /program manager for the Solid Waste Division (Nuclear). From 1995 to 1998 Scott was the senior program manager for the Low Level Waste Program at SRS. From 1992 to 1995 Scott was the project manager for the construction of the Hazard Cat II E-Area Vaults at SRS and start-up of the first low-level waste concrete storage vaults in the United States.

Before joining Department of Energy, Scott spent six and half years with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Chesapeake Division in Washington D.C. When Scott left NAVFAC he was the Supervisory Civil Engineer responsible for constructing the $120M Naval Intelligence Center in Suitland, MD, NAVFAC’s largest project. From 1986 to 1992, as a project manager, Scott managed construction of multiple projects at multiple locations within the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
