DOE HQ Emergency Drills & Exercises
As part of the continuing effort to improve the DOE Headquarters Occupant Emergency Program, evacuation exercises will be held periodically. The objective of these exercises is for all employees and Emergency Response Team members to practice the actions that would be taken in a real evacuation. Every effort will be made to perform excercises according to the following schedule; however, dates are subject to change with little or no warning.
Schedule: to be provided
Evacuation Procedure
The ringing of the fire alarm bells is the signal to evacuate the building. Employees are to leave the building by way of the nearest exit and report in at their assembly area. Persons who are unable to exit the building are to go to their nearest area of refuge and report in using the emergency call buttons in the stairway (FORS, GTN, 270, CLOV) or go to the elevator lobby (950, 955). Program Offices are to take roll at the assembly areas and report any missing or unaccounted for persons.
Please contact Cherylynne Williams, Steve Scott, or Vincent Brooks on 202-586-1005 if you have any questions. You may also address questions on the exercises and other emergency actions specific for your organization to your Program Secretarial Office Safety and Health personnel or Administrative Officer.
