Administrative Services

The Office of Management provides many of the administrative services that keep the Department of Energy operational.  These services comprise many of the functions that keep the Department's facilities operating, as well as many of the managerial support functions that are shared by many of the Program Offices.  These functions are primarily provided by the Office of Administration, MA-40.

Some of these functions are:

Building Services
  • Heating and air-conditioning issues
  • Trash pickup and office cleaning
  • Space management:
    • Assignment of space in the Forrestal Building, Main Germantown Building and all leased buildings
    • Adherence to ADA and Life Safety Requirements
  • Telephone and electric receptacle installation
  • DOE cafeterias  
  • Carpeting installation and maintenance
  • Installation of items such as artwork, visual boards, clocks, etc.
  • Cyclical painting (no charge to customer)
  • Office moving services
  • Minor office construction
  • Oversight of minor and major construction projects
  • Keys and locks for all offices in the Forrestal and Germantown buildings 
  • Recycling
  • Grounds and elevators maintenance

Administrative Management Services

  • Headquarters mail services
  • Copier management
    • Staffed Copy Centers
    • Centralized copiers
  • Conferencing facilities and special events support
  • Audio and video facilities and production
  • Transportation management
  • Courier services
  • Printing procurement
  • Graphics and photography services
  • Distribution services

Headquarters Safety and Health Program

  • Occupant Emergency Plans
  • Warder, Monitor, First Aid, CPR, AED and Escape Mask provision and training
  • Emergency Preparedness Pamphlets, specific for each building
